Clan Abercromby held lands in the Highlands and Lowlands. An ancestor, Sir Alexander Abercromby, was the Grand Falconer to King James VI of Scotland. He went on to be Grand Falconer to Charles I, then was Sheriff of Banffshire 1638-1641.
