The Armstrong name can be found in Northumbria and the Scottish Borders. They were a powerful, warlike clan and acknowledged Border Reivers. The Armstrongs followed the cause of Robert the Bruce in the Scottish Wars of Independence. The Armstrong haven't had a chief since the dispersal in the 17th century. Armstrongs are, however, a very active clan and can be found at most Highland festivals around the world.
