The name is also found as Arnot (also Arnote, Arnocht, and Arnatt) and derives from the lands of Arnot in the Portmoak Parish, Kinross-shire where the family lived from the middle of the 12th century

Arnot Tower was built in the early 1400s though there may have been earlier fortifications which occupied the site. The building seen today was probably built in 1507. As a ruin, Arnot Tower seems to have provided an inspiration for poets and painters.

  • Each item begins as a piece of bronze sheet metal.  After a pattern is transferred to the metal, the piece is etched in a salt-water solution.  Each piece is hand cut, sanded, and polished. The pin back is soldered on. A patina has been applied giving the metal that aged look. A clear polymer coating is applied to the face of the badge.
