Originating from the Northumbrian region of England. Over time, the Blyth name spread to Scotland, where it became associated with the Borders region. Clan Blyth has a unique and diverse history, which includes its association with the Borders gypsies. One notable member of the clan was Esther Faa Blyth, a Victorian ‘queen of the gypsies’ who helped to preserve the traditional way of life of the gypsy community.
