Clan Menzies is a Highland Scottish clan. The family is most likely of Norman origin, descending from Robert de Maineriis of Mesnieres near Rouen in Normandy. They settled in Lothian in the 12th Century and became the oldest family in Strathtay with an unbroken descent.
